In our home, we have a tiny but powerful dog named Ruffrey. He’s probably the best dog in the world. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen him quietly curl up next to one of my children when they’re feeling under the weather, refusing to leave their side until he’s sure they’re okay. That unconditional love, that silent, comforting presence—it’s the most powerful medicine.
This everyday heroism is what sparked the idea for The Dogtor. It’s a heartwarming story about a playful pup who is loved by all the neighbourhood kids. With a comforting nudge and a slobbery treat, he’s always there to heal their scraped knees and calm their little squabbles. He’s their make-believe doctor, their "Dogtor."

Faced with a scary accident, this brave little dog must trade his make-believe for real-life heroism. It’s a beautiful tale about loyalty, courage, and discovering that the biggest medicine of all is a loving heart.
